As a solution, the integration of energy storage within large scale PV power plants can help to comply with these challenging grid code requirements 1. Accordingly, ES technologies can be expected to be essential for the interconnection of new large scale PV power plants.
To sum up, from PV power plants under-frequency regulation viewpoint, the energy storage should require between 1.5% to 10% of the rated power of the PV plant. In terms of energy, it is required, at least, to provide full power during 9–30 min (see Table 5).
In, different methods are presented for sizing batteries only in photovoltaic energy plants to maximize the total annual revenue and try to find cost-effective storage sizes.
