Single phase full bridge inverter circuit required more component for conversion than that used in single phase Half bridge inverters so, the cost of the circuit get increases. The full bridge inverter circuit basically consists of 4 feedback diodes and 4 controlled switches (like Thyristor, IGBT or MOSFET).
Rather, two wire DC input power source suffices the requirement. The output frequency can be controlled by controlling the turn ON and turn OFF time of the thyristors. The power circuit of a single phase full bridge inverter comprises of four thyristors T1 to T4, four diodes D1 to D1 and a two wire DC input power source Vs.
The SiC inverter has losses that are similar to those of the IGBT inverter. However, it also considers the body diode loss and the drain-source resistance Rds of the SiC MOSFET. A diode hybrid inverter adopts a structure in which conduction is performed using a SiC diode instead of an intrinsic diode inside the MOSFET.
For the performance comparisons, 3 kW inverters with direct current (DC) input voltages of 400 V and 700 V and an output voltage of 220 Vac/60 Hz are implemented and tested at switching frequencies of 20 kHz and 40 kHz.
A diode hybrid inverter adopts a structure in which conduction is performed using a SiC diode instead of an intrinsic diode inside the MOSFET. Therefore, the diode hybrid inverter calculates the conduction loss by considering Vshcd and Vsicd, which are the nominal voltage drops in the Schottky and SiC diodes.
